I am a university teacher and researcher. I also have teaching experience at secondary school level. I am Italian and have a C2 level in Spanish and Portuguese, and a C1 level in French. I have a post-doctoral academic background and extensive teaching experience in both Italian and Portuguese, at both school and university levels. With a solid background in the humanities, I am also able to teach History and Philosophy (I have done so at various times in schools, and I currently do so at the university level. On a methodological level, I place great importance on listening to and engaging in dialogue with students. While I certainly have an understanding of the grammatical topics that are important to study and review, I deeply value flexibility. For example, if a student prefers simple conversation because it is more useful to them for personal reasons, I certainly don't insist on them doing exercises on the past perfect or future anterior! I worked in high schools for 3 years. I hold a certificate from the Instituto Cervantes relating to knowledge of the Spanish language (level C2). I have taught Portuguese at university. I have 11 years of experience as a translator from and to Italian of academic texts (articles, chapters, and books). I make an effort to carefully listen to the needs of my students. I tend to prioritise conversational practice over the mere memorisation of theoretical notions, while remaining mindful of the importance of studying the specific rules and structures of the language. Before each lesson, I always share a detailed work plan that includes theoretical guidance and exercises tailored to the student’s level of knowledge. I always provide an abundance of exercises, so that we can review and correct those we couldn't go over in the previous lesson together. I aim to vary the topics covered based on the gaps I perceive during the lessons. During the first lesson, we agree on a structured work plan, defining the relevant topics and themes to be covered, along with the methodology (which, if preferred, can also follow a simple conversation-based approach).

My main motivation: “Never stop”. No matter how hard it is, time does not stand still, so you must always move on. First and foremost, I appreciate that my students feel comfortable in the classroom. That's why I listen to their wishes. In addition to grammar, we listen to audio and watch videos according to students' preferences. And most importantly, we talk. After all, it is important to express yourself freely using the main tool – language. Therefore, I am waiting for you in my classes for fruitful cooperation😌 I have been working as a Spanish teacher for over 2 years. At the university I had experience in studying Spanish language and literature, and also studied at a university in Spain for a year, thanks to an exchange program. I currently live in Spain, so I have up-to-date vocabulary in my arsenal)

I have been studying languages autonomously and self-taught since I was 14 years old. My first job was at a hotel where I started using English for the first time. Dmytro Zizda Lecturer at the Department of Translation. A professional, certified translator with extensive experience in translation and teaching French (C1), Spanish (C1), Greek (C1), Portuguese (B1), and Romanian (native speaker). I have taught students from over 15 countries around the world. My teaching philosophy is focused on moving away from rote memorization of rigid rules and instead learning to understand the principles of the language and use them naturally. I encourage my students to speak and pronounce sounds based on feeling, not by mentally reviewing every rule, because in real communication there’s no time for that. It’s essential to always adapt to the situation and aim for comfort and fluency.

I am a 31-year-old from Rio de Janeiro. My father has always been aware of the importance of learning foreign languages, and so I remember learning them from a very young age. First English, then French, then Spanish, then Mandarin and so on. I enjoy, playing sports, swimming in rivers and waterfalls, playing sports (especially basketball and rugby), and also board games. I like History, Philosophy, Psychology, and Geography. I started teaching English in 2017, in private classes. Very quickly, I set up a course and was soon called to teach the employees and children served by the German NGO ’humedica’. I also became the translator who communicated between Germany and Brazil, working there from 2017 to 2019. Shortly before the pandemic, I also started teaching my native language Portuguese specifically to Chinese, both children and adults. My classes complement the students' daily or weekly study. I seek a balance between the four skills (listening, writing, speaking/pronunciation and reading). My English teaching materials are taken from the best sources and personalized. The Brazilian Portuguese teaching materials available on the market usually lack a really important pedagogic element which I correct and adapt for the material provided in my classes. I also have special material for teenagers.
