German has been a part of my life for many years - I have participated in numerous intensive courses, including in Germany, studied the language independently, and lived for a year in a German-speaking family. I dedicate 80% of the lesson to speaking practice, which can be effectively combined with audio materials. You can't go without grammar :) So, we reserve 10-15% of the time for that. In the case of school students, this usually involves transitioning from a school where German was not taught to a school with German as a second foreign language. To ensure this transition is as smooth as possible, I first focus on helping them grasp the basics of speaking German, without relying on the material already covered in a "German-speaking" class. Preparation for Goethe-Institut exams is based on resources from the HUBER publishing house (Themen aktuell, Schritte international, Menschen). For telc, I use materials prepared by the company itself. Additionally, I incorporate visual aids, excerpts from films, additional texts, and more. Ivan Toporov is an experienced professional translator and philologist with more than 10 years of work experience. He holds degrees in philology, including a Master's degree in Romance Philology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Lugansk (LNU), where he studied as a philologist, teacher, and translator of French and Spanish for 2 years, and a Bachelor's degree in Germanic Philology from Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. H. Korolenko (PNPU), where he trained as a philologist and translator of English and German for 4 years. Additionally, he is proficient in Latin and Greek, having studied them at the LМU Medical College (located in Lokhvitsa) for 4 years. In 2022, he began studying at the Ukrainian Free University in Munich (Ukrainische Freie Universität; UFU) in the Faculty of Ukrainian Studies (Ukrainian Language and Literature). Ivan is not only a qualified translator but also an experienced educator with teaching experience in universities, language schools, and private tutoring institutions.As an official member of the Ukrainian Association of Translators and Interpreters (UATI), which is a member of FIT (International Federation of Translators), and CIOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists), Ivan specializes in translations from English, German, Spanish, and French into Ukrainian and Russian. This multicultural journey brought me closer to studying languages, which has always been one of my passions as well as a means to integrate myself into a new culture.I started by teaching Italian to children, giving Italian tuition and helping them with their homework. In the study of grammar, which is often the least "exciting" part of a language, I guide the student to deduce the grammatical rule independently and to apply it in more general contexts.
