Learning Portuguese

I am Brazilian, I live in a city in the interior of the State of São Paulo, I am 26 years old and I enjoy listening to music, playing video games and learning about history and curiosities. I am able to converse about different topics in Portuguese, allowing you to absorb vocabulary related to your area of interest. I have experience teaching Portuguese to people whose native language is either Spanish or English. I can use English as a tool to help you understand the lessons. I am patient and passionate about teaching. My focus is not on socializing but on delivering the essential knowledge of Portuguese to you in the shortest time possible. You can expect a class tailored to your needs. In the first class, I will aim to test your level of Portuguese and familiarity with the language, so that we can then define a teaching plan to build your knowledge base in Portuguese or improve what you already know.

I am a university teacher and researcher. I also have teaching experience at secondary school level. I am Italian and have a C2 level in Spanish and Portuguese, and a C1 level in French. I have a post-doctoral academic background and extensive teaching experience in both Italian and Portuguese, at both school and university levels. With a solid background in the humanities, I am also able to teach History and Philosophy (I have done so at various times in schools, and I currently do so at the university level. On a methodological level, I place great importance on listening to and engaging in dialogue with students. While I certainly have an understanding of the grammatical topics that are important to study and review, I deeply value flexibility. For example, if a student prefers simple conversation because it is more useful to them for personal reasons, I certainly don't insist on them doing exercises on the past perfect or future anterior! I worked in high schools for 3 years. I hold a certificate from the Instituto Cervantes relating to knowledge of the Spanish language (level C2). I have taught Portuguese at university. I have 11 years of experience as a translator from and to Italian of academic texts (articles, chapters, and books). I make an effort to carefully listen to the needs of my students. I tend to prioritise conversational practice over the mere memorisation of theoretical notions, while remaining mindful of the importance of studying the specific rules and structures of the language. Before each lesson, I always share a detailed work plan that includes theoretical guidance and exercises tailored to the student’s level of knowledge. I always provide an abundance of exercises, so that we can review and correct those we couldn't go over in the previous lesson together. I aim to vary the topics covered based on the gaps I perceive during the lessons. During the first lesson, we agree on a structured work plan, defining the relevant topics and themes to be covered, along with the methodology (which, if preferred, can also follow a simple conversation-based approach).

I graduated with a degree in English teaching from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I love the language, teaching, and sharing my classroom knowledge with students. I enjoy learning about languages and different methodologies. I am patient and believe that little by little we can go very far. I am open to exploring various types of classes that are most comfortable and beneficial for my students. I have been learning English for more than 15 years, and have traveled. I am also a Portuguese teacher with experience online. Portuguese is my mother tongue; I can teach at any level and explain not only the language but also Brazilian culture, including music, movies, history, literature, and travel tips about the country, such as what to do and what to avoid while traveling. My classes are tailored to the needs of the student. I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced, as well as conversation classes, and accommodate ages from kids to adults. As both a student and a teacher, I understand that everyone has a different way of learning. My main goal is to teach you languages using the best method that makes you feel comfortable and motivated to learn.

Hello How are you? My name is Rafhael, I am 25 years old. I have over 5 years of experience teaching languages to Brazilians and foreigners, teaching languages on various platforms and at a language school in Brazil. I have received over 100 five-star ratings on the platforms where I work and have taught students from more than 50 different countries in the past 5 years. My first degree was in Executive Secretaryship. I am passionate about cultural diversity. I love reading books on literature, romance, science fiction, and more. I also enjoy reading mangas, magazines, and comics. I love participating in cultural events, including Italian, Japanese, Korean, and others. I am a beginner cosplayer, and I strive to travel and explore as many places as possible to share all this knowledge with my students.

A professional, certified translator with extensive experience in translation and teaching French (C1), Spanish (C1), Greek (C1), Portuguese (B1), and Romanian (native speaker). I have taught students from over 15 countries around the world. My teaching philosophy is focused on moving away from rote memorization of rigid rules and instead learning to understand the principles of the language and use them naturally. I encourage my students to speak and pronounce sounds based on feeling, not by mentally reviewing every rule, because in real communication there’s no time for that. It’s essential to always adapt to the situation and aim for comfort and fluency.

About me: I am a happy, lively and open person, passionate about life and the gifts that a good conversation brings! In addition to my passion for theater and artistic expressiveness in general, I love getting to know new cultures, habits, customs, things that belong to the other's universe and that make us so different and at the same time so similar! Me as a tutor: I have experience with private sessions personally and online on italki an other platforms. At FISK, a language course, I taught a teenager's class and a children's class. I left the institute to take care of my sister's health, but even in a short time I managed to "made my name", as the Direction very affectionately told me. My lessons and tutoring style: My classes are purely conversational! :) Through conversation, the student practices listening and speaking a lot, improving accent, diction, gradually gaining and experimenting with their vocabulary, and receiving minor corrections when necessary and welcome.
